Our History

One of our first "buses", now retired.

In 1981, three friends got together to form a "bus company." Where they worked, they would see tour companies bringing happy travelers into the area. They had the same idea but they wanted to take people to Atlantic City. So a few months later, they purchased a motorcoach and formed Fun Tours.

Back then, Fun Tours would take tours to Atlantic City on a regular basis. But, that's not all we had in mind. The original owners dreamed of creating a tour company that could serve everyone's needs. In 1984, Fun Tours expanded the number of tours we packaged, expanded our destinations, and expanded our offices.

Again in 1990, Fun Tours saw the benefits of offering travel customization to groups. Hence, our Group Leader Program was formed. Today, we serve over 150 groups.

With a growing tour and travel market and a growing interest in our area, Fun Tours began to package local tours for incoming groups in 1993. Since that time, we have developed over 100 custom local tours.

Over the years, Fun Tours has accumulated more modern motorcoaches to replace older coaches as they become out dated. This means that you will always get one of the cleanest and newest coaches in the industry. Today, Fun Tours has served over 14,000 travelers. We look toward the future of motorcoach travel and are continually striving to be the best tour and travel operator in Virginia!
