Gwen Elmore

Gwen joined our team in the summer of 1984.  Before her career change into the travel industry, Gwen was a purchasing agent for a furniture company in Hickory, North Carolina.  Gwen's roots stem from the foothills of North Carolina where she was born and raised.

Since arriving at Fun Tours, Gwen has put a lot of effort in developing new and exciting travel programs for our customers, and has expanded our retail tours through tour packaging.  In 1986, she spearheaded our Group Leader program which currently serves over 150 groups.  Again, in 1993, she organized and developed our Receptive Services department to help market and bring tour groups into Hampton Roads, Virginia.

Gwen is a member of the Virginia Motorcoach Association Board of Directors where she has served for over twenty years.  She recently completed a two year termn as the first female President of the Virginia Motorcoach Association that just celebrated its 84th year.  Gwen also served on the Norfolk Senior Olympics Executive Committee for over twenty years.

Gwen was awarded the 1996 Women In Business Award for the Hampton Roads area by Inside Business Magazine.

Along with her many accomplishments, Gwen currently holds the position of President and General Manager of Fun Tours.  She acquired the position in 1992 after serving as Vice-President for 6 years.

On a more personal note, Gwen is married to Charles Elmore and has two wonderful sons, a handsome grandson, and a beautiful granddaughter.  When she is not working, Gwen loves to paint watercolor, arrange flowers and read.

Gwen's loves to travel to Myrtle Beach, SC. She loves the theatres, beaches, and fun that the area has to offer. She and Charles also spent their honeymoon in Myrtle Beach in 1970.
